It is a good-sounding, easy-playing, lovely instrument that any student flutist would be proud to own and play. The headjoint, body, and footjoint of the YFL-221 is made of durable nickel silver. Neoprene bumpers are used rather than cork to increase durability and achieve a maximum fit against the body. This model has been improved relative to previous versions with a stronger post design to prevent bending of the posts, easily accessible adjustment screws, an improved adjustment screw material, and a body marking for proper positioning of the footjoint. The Yamaha YFL-221is a favorite among teachers because of the open sound and easy playability. Double bladder pads make for longer life and maximum seating, nickel silver, power-forged keys are less susceptible to breakage, and an improved ccale results in better intonation. A unique footjoint alignment mark facilitates proper fitting by young players, and all key shapes and placements have been ergonomically designed for comfortable, natural-feeling performance. The keys are hand-assembled and adjusted for a perfect touch and balance.
