Amanda Malloy
Amanda Malloy is a 2003 graduate of band instrument repair at MSC-ST Red Wing, Minnesota, a NAPBIRT member, and a certified Straubinger flute technician. She started repairing band instruments at Brass Bell in 2003 and specializes in brass and woodwind repairs with an emphasis on flute, trumpet, and trombone. She is also a trumpet player, vocalist, and brass and woodwind instrumentalist.
Jonathan Schmechel
Jonathan Schmechel graduated from the Band Instrument Repair Program at Minnesota Southeast Technical college in Red Wing in 2024. Jonathan is a woodwind & brass repair technician and a member of NAPBIRT. He plays primarily clarinet, flute, and saxophone, with knowledge of double reeds and brass instruments as well.
Brass
Eli Drews
Eli Drews grew up immersed in the performing arts scene of the Milwaukee area, having attended public arts schools and been surrounded by a family of actors and singers. He has served as principal or co-principal horn in the UW-Milwaukee Community Orchestra, Milwaukee American Legion Band, and UWM Symphony Band. He’s also performed with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, UWM Symphony Orchestra, UWM Wind Ensemble, as well as in many community groups and pit orchestras in the area. He has composed works for ensembles ranging from band and orchestra to chamber groups and solo works, with compositions performed or recorded by the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, Transient Canvas, Third Coast Percussion, Present Music’s Tatine String Quartet, the Cosmo Reed Quintet, the UW-Milwaukee New Music Ensemble, and by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony. He has studied horn with Richard Tremarello and Gregory Flint and composition with Ron Foster, Phillip Sink, William Heinrichs, Robert Aldridge, David Dzubay and Nathan Hearing. He has Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in Composition & Technology and in Horn Performance. Mr. Drews is also the Brass Repair Technician and Shop Manager at Brass Bell Music Store in the Northshore of Milwaukee.
Jonah Eckert
Jonah Eckert graduated from the Band Instrument Repair Program at Minnesota State College Southeast in Redwing. He is an accomplished Saxophonist and Euphoniumist, having played in school bands, pit orchestras, and DCI.

Nick Miller
Nick Miller is a NAPBIRT member who specializes in woodwind repairs, builds guitar effects units, and plays guitar, brass, and woodwind instruments. He is a graduate of Band Instrument Repair and Guitar Construction/Repair at MSC-SE (Red Wing) and graduate of Amplifier Construct at Roberto Venn Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ.
Mark Pierret
With over 25 years in musical instrument repair, Mark Pierret has helped service Wisconsin schools & independent musicians, repairing not just many instruments, but many different types of instruments! Mark has attended and completed Strings 1 & 2 courses through NAPBIRT University and has also attended and completed the Mohawk Touch-up & Repair Workshop. Mark specializes in fretted instruments, orchestral stringed instruments, & percussion instruments.
Orchestral Strings
Dora Peregrine
Dora Peregrine has been an orchestra instrument technician at Brass Bell since 2016 and in that time has had the opportunity to do a number of exciting things for the store in addition to repair work, such as mural painting and video making. Her main instrument is the cello but she also enjoys playing guitar, bass, other string instruments, and singing. She has released two EPs and loves to make music with friends. In 2024, Dora graduated from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a BFA in Painting & Drawing and Printmaking & Book Arts and now shows work at a number of galleries in Wisconsin. In her free time, she enjoys biking, beach combing, and breakfast.
